Know what you're going for

Literally10When I was visiting Kari, I thought that it would be great to pop into a fabric store up in Massachusetts. I like to quilt. Analog editing. Yep. I can't stop editing. It's all the same. Anyway, this was my relaxing weekend and somehow it became a bit stressful trying to get to the destination in time. You'll notice it in the lovely gum chewing action.

New Film! NYC Screening

Pioneer Friday, August 25. 7 PM. Two Boots Pioneer Theater. It'll be fun!
155 East 3rd St. Advanced tix: http://www.tix.com/Event.asp?Event=62851

This is my second rough film like this and it's really an interesting way of making work for me. Basically, as I add to this videoblog, I am adding to the larger pot of clips to choose from. Each time I make a 60 minute film, they are different. I can change the context with titles and the choices I make with the clips I choose...and the order I put them in obviously. They are always different - even if the film includes some material that may have been used before. I'm excited and ridiculously silly about it. Why not? Thanks, Henry for filming me while I share my enthusiasm with the world. I'm currently applying for a grant that will, hopefully, help to make a solid finished piece like this that I can then get out into more theaters...fingers' crossed.

Anyway. This is part of a larger program called Vloggers Unite. Please check out the entire event: http://www.twoboots.com/pioneer/

Analysis is my sport

FreudThere's nothing like spending a little quality time with the latest top ten questions about your potential state of mind.

history is weird

4thjuly_1 For July 4th I came upon this monument. It doesn't really have to do with the official reason for July 4th's celebration of independence (1776), it has to do with the Civil war. I find history very difficult to grasp in general. I never studied American History so I find it very obscure and interesting when I run into things like this. I am from a province in canada that seemed to quietly join the rest of the country in 1905. Nothing like the passion that stems from getting this country together at all.

Lassy and Jesus

Jesus1 Henry tells me of his confidant.
I found a reason to shoot a couple of nuggets today.
Guess I'm out of the Vortex.
Thanks to Jesus. And Lassy.

Uninspired1

Uninspired This is challenging. I haven't been very inspired lately. It's the worst. What makes the lack of creativity happen? If only I could figure it out. I usually try to think positively that I'm just at the bottom of the cycle and at this point I am collecting. One way I get over this is to force myself to shoot. I have a feeling this is the start of my uninspired realm. A vortex that is not a fun place to be.

A talent

Sleep2I sleep with my windows open. My alarm is fairly loud next to me.
Nonetheless, I am able to sleep through it all for about 45 minutes before I realize these sounds are not in my dreams. Pretty amazing that I can do this considering.

Happy Shabu

Shabu One of my favorite places to go is at Happy Shabu (now closed unfortunately). Kari and Torsten enjoyed the video projections of Cher on the wall as well as the food. I couldn't resist tweaking the moment a bit in the edit so it's not quite exactly as it was...
